Project Overview

Rimbuni was a backend-focused product environment centered on emissions management, forest project operations, and ESG contribution workflows. The systems supported companies that needed to calculate and manage greenhouse gas emissions, monitor forest-related activity, and contribute to sustainability efforts through operationally reliable backend services.

Problem

Sustainability products have to connect environmental data, project operations, stakeholder visibility, and payment flows in one system. Without that integration, emissions analysis, tree monitoring, forest project management, and contribution handling become fragmented and difficult to operate consistently across companies and NGO participants.

Solution

I developed backend systems to calculate, analyze, and manage greenhouse gas emissions, helping companies define reduction targets and offset their emissions more effectively. I also worked on a planted-tree monitoring system that managed forest project data and project blocks, while enabling NGOs to monitor trees within their assigned projects.

Beyond monitoring, I built backend functionality for managing forest projects that supported company ESG participation. The platform included an API key mechanism so companies could contribute through incoming transactions, while individuals could participate via an integrated payment gateway.

From an infrastructure perspective, the platform used Docker for containerization and AWS services such as RDS for database management and ECR for container image storage. CI/CD delivery was automated through CodePipeline to make deployment more repeatable and operationally stable.

Impact

The result was a stronger backend foundation for sustainability and forestry-related operations across emissions analysis, project monitoring, contribution flows, and deployment workflows. Rimbuni gained more structured systems for supporting both internal operations and external stakeholders involved in ESG and forest project activity.
